Meet your Trainer

My name is Maria Young. In addition to all the things listed above, I am a person with goals... just like you. The difference is, I got tired of advice from people who knew nothing about science or how the body works differently for everyone. That's why I furthered my knowledge in the field of Kinesiology and set my life goal to help people understand training & nutrition so it can become a lifestyle, not a fad.

My Story

Growing up, I was very overweight. I played sports my whole life, but I found myself in a downhill spiral with all the food choices I was making. At the age of 17 I met the man that would (little did I know) change my life forever. This man was a strength coach and I was completely intimidated. Eventually, I said to him "If I can't be skinny, make me strong". With this new mindset, I began to focus solely on what my body could do, instead of what it couldn't. I began seeing strength results and in turn, my diet began to better itself as well. I ended up going to USAPL Raw Nationals and placed first in my third ever meet. Not only that, I lost 40 lbs training with him, and I knew as soon as I went to college that I wanted to help others achieve this same feeling of pride, dedication, and relentlessness.

I graduated from Boise State University with my degree in Kinesiology and an emphasis in Exercise Science. I began training people throughout my college career and learned much from my internships, work experience, and fellow classmates about just how important nutrition and training are for the body. I competed in my first bodybuilding show in 2015 and got nationally qualified. I've competed off and on in bodybuilding and am now nationally qualified four times.

My passion for fitness, health, and mental stability are what drive me to do what I do. People look at me and often think that I was given all I have. This is so, so far from the truth. I made the conscious decision to take control of my life and to make a difference. I can guide you, show you, and motivate you to put the work in, but unless you pull that trigger, change will be stagnant.

I believe in hard work. Any individual that wants to put forth the effort and makes that scary (yet rewarding) first step at a better you, I am here to help you achieve your goals. There is no better time than right now. The sooner you start, the sooner you will become who you want to be.
